Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.

We apply our expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Our services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities.
Morgan Stanley Global Stock Plan Services provides Corporate Clients and their participants with administrative, recordkeeping, and execution services for their Stock Option Plans, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and Restricted Awards Plans. With administration services, GSPS provides on-going administrative support to Corporate Clients that includes report delivery as well as daily assistance with administrative and operational matters.?
The GSPS Operations team is responsible for providing back office operational functions for the Corporate Equity Solutions (CES) Business. CES is in the process of migrating all of GSPS corporate clients to a new administrative Platform. There are approximately 300 active corporate clients being migrated. In addition, the business is in the process of defining and implementing a new partnered business model to provide executing broker functions and wealth management services to stock plan participants serviced by Solium's Shareworks platform. In both models GSPS Operations will have to perform migration support, settlement, share delivery, cash management, billing and reconciliation functions in support of corporate clients under this Platform. The business anticipates onboarding 20-25 corporate plans on to the partnered model by the first quarter of 2020. For this reason GSPS Operations will need to replace a Director level employee to handle an existing role and support manual efforts associated with these functions. The CES Business and their FA Team partners view this new platform as a new lead for captive Wealth Management retail client opportunities. They are expecting their GSPS Operations partners to provide excellent service in the model described above to increase the likelihood of these stock participants establishing broader relationships with Stock Plan FAs.
In addition, the GSPS Operations Director will support stock plan account maintenance and corrections, complex problem research and resolution, and assist with identifying areas and processes where enhancement and/or automation would prove beneficial. The Director will also be responsible for having a thorough understanding of dividends and corporate actions as well as knowledge of tax reporting rules associated with these transactions. Facilitation of special projects specific to in-depth review of GSPS quarterly statements and GSPS tax forms is also a primary responsibility.
