Responsible for profitable revenue generation, region growth and ongoing account management in the assigned territory. The position encompasses responsibility for the development and management of a successful team of sales representatives in the territory, in accordance with guidelines agreed upon with Millennium Laboratories.

  • Meet and exceed regional volume growth objectives both through new accounts and by increasing business in existing accounts
  • Build, motivate and manage sales team in the region
  • Deliver sales goals while respecting expense budgets
  • Responsible for developing regional strategic plan and organizational expansion plans
  • Recommend and execute hiring of sales specialists and support specialists
  • Understand regulatory and reimbursement considerations applicable to Millennium’s products and services
  • Organize regular team meetings to share ideas and build team strength
  • Interact frequently with peers on the sales management team to strategize and develop ideas for new business opportunities and growth
  • Stay abreast of competitor activity in the region and provide feedback to VP Sales and rest of Executive team
  • Develop and manage strong sustainable relationships with key customers in the region
  • Provide regular updates to VP Sales and Executive Management on prospects, pipeline volume forecasts, issues and opportunities for the region
  • Provide on-going training and support in the field for team members across the region
  • Make regular customer visits with all team members in the region
  • Provide mentoring to individuals on the team to help them achieve their professional development and career objectives
  • Attend local and national conferences and tradeshows as assigned, as an ambassador of Millennium products and services, and interact with customers
  • Hold the team accountable for performance and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Manage and prioritize peer-to-peer educational programs and local tradeshows in the region, to provide physicians with a forum to learn about Millennium’s services
  • Adhere to all HIPAA confidentiality requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university required
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key physicians and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build and retain a high performing sales team
  • Prior experience in a fast paced, high growth sales environment
  • Superior organizational skills and prior experience managing a large geographic region
  • Committed to aggressive volume growth curve
  • Existing clinical contacts in the pain management field is desirable
  • Outstanding coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Polished presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contact management software
  • High energy level and ability to grow the business rapidly
  • Uncompromising ethics and integrity
  • Self starter who works effectively independently as well as in a team environment
  • Understanding of insurance and reimbursement issues
  • Ability to understand and present clinical / technical product information
  • Able to maintain a home office
  • Clean driving record
  • Regular overnight travel within the region and to national conferences as required
  • Required Experience
  • Ten years’ experience in medical sales – (preference is for medical devices, pain management related specialty products, or pain management related pharmaceutical products)
  • At least five years’ experience in a sales management capacity
  • Prior experience in a fast paced, high growth sales environment
  • Strong track record of continued progressive business growth
  • Region sales performance ranking within top ten percent of the company
