Retail Assistant Manager manages and oversees Capital Blue Retail center operations to meet or exceed performance metrics pertaining to sales, service, care/wellness support, traffic, customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Retail Assistant Manager collaborates with Director of Retail Services and provider partners to develop and deliver onsite wellness services, resources and educational opportunities to provider partner patients, Capital BlueCross members and members of the community.

Responsible for all staff training requirements, certification and licensing oversight and career development. Acts as liaison between Compliance, Individual Sales, Medicare, Small Business Sales, Clinical, Health and Wellness, Customer Service and other departments as needed to ensure all training required is completed, updates to procedures are completed, and collaboration between units is occurring.

Responsible for driving success and overseeing all reporting of results for sales, service, traffic, and event attendance metrics. The Retail Assistant Manager serves as the owner of the customer experience and provider partner relationship through leading by example, setting the standard for service, and supervising and coaching team for an exceptional customer experience.

Monitors all operational practices and consistently looks for process improvements. Tracks all customer suggestions for improvement and regularly provides feedback to Senior Management and provider partner.


  • Bachelor s Degree Business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field and 5 to 10 years' experience managing sales, customer service, and business development.
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills.
  • Strategic orientation and consultative approach.
  • Experience hiring and managing staff and vendors.
  • Experience with budgeting and resource planning and management.
  • Ability to develop, execute, coordinate, manage, problem-solve and guide implementation of major projects, as well as the ability to conduct and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to support the marketing strategies to drive traffic, sales and care opportunities, manage community events to drive awareness and traffic, and drive exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Must possess or attain within 60 days of employment a Pennsylvania Health and Life Insurance License.
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Physical Demands: Sedentary work involving significant periods of sitting, talking, hearing, keying and performing repetitive motions. Work requires visual acuity to perform close inspection of written and computer generated documents as well as a PC monitor. Working environment includes typical office conditions.

This position requires the signing of a Non-Competition, Non-Disclosure and Non-Solicitation Agreement.

Each one is open to the public and includes a fitness studio, Healthy You Caf and on-site care guides skilled in multiple areas, including nutrition and biometrics screening.
