Detailed Job Description:


The Manager of Merchandise Planning is responsible for partnering with the cross functional team on the development of product strategies and leading the creation of the financial strategy including sales, margin and inventory from department to class and for the entire USA and by region. The Manager ensures that hindsight, assortment framework and financial strategies are built in a way that service all USA markets by gathering and assessing data of the market and partnering with the regional teams. The Manager is also responsible for partnering with the Manager of Allocation and providing the necessary guidance and direction to help the allocation team achieve their objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop the tops down product strategies and financial plan inclusive of sales, margin and inventory from division to department.
Responsible for building the assortment framework inclusive of style/sku targets, in store dates, good/better/best framework, and season code balance.
Lead the analysis of historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities for multiple departments.
Create pre-season sales, gm, and inventory plans by department and class that support product strategies.
Partners with global marketing on key investments aligned to big ideas, campaigns and marketing.
Accountable for the Inventory investment (style level buy) for USA business.
Responsible for delivering a flexible and responsive approach to inventory management utilizing Open to buy and adjusting orders by sku.
Create allocation strategies, incorporating the merchandise plan and flow strategy to meet store inventory needs.
Manage replenishment plans to ensure that sales are optimized and stores are without missing skus
Partner with the Area Manager Store team on delivering a comprehensive hindsight to develop product and inventory strategies to service all USA regions.
Partners with Finance Corporate Planning team to create and manage to inventory budgets by quarter.
Manage the financial success of a division or multiple divisions by meeting sales, gross margin, discount ratios, and remaining inventory.
Coach and train planners to identify key learnings and develop future strategies. Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of experience in store/merchandising planning
2 + years in a leadership or management role
High level of experience and proficiency in Excel
Excellent analytical and mathematical proficiency with strong business and financial acumen
Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
Sense of urgency and accuracy
Ability to travel internationally
